Musharraf leaves for Turkey today

ISLAMABAD, Oct 12: President Gen Pervez Musharraf will leave Sunday for Turkey to attend the 7th summit of the heads of the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization on Monday.

The objectives of the ECO are promotion of trade, investment and development of communication infrastructure in the member states.

Gen Musharraf would also hold meetings with the heads of the ECO member states.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Inamul Haq was in Istanbul to lead the Pakistani delegation at the 12th meeting of the ECO Council of Ministers, which was held Saturday.

During the summit, the ECO leaders would review status of the implementation of the decisions taken at the previous summits.—APP
