COLOMBO, Oct 9: Sri Lanka tea prices were mixed at the latest auction with good quality teas down slightly, brokers said on Wednesday.

The anticipated gross was 155 rupees compared to 154.58 last week, Forbes and Walker Tea Brokers said in a statement.

It said there was good demand from Britain, Pakistan and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Best-quality broken orange pekoe teas were three to five rupees lower, while others were up two rupees, the statement said.

There were 5.1 million kgs on offer this week, with 54m going on sale next week.—Reuters
