KARACHI, Oct 6: Federal Minister for Information and Media Development, Nisar A. Memon directed the officials of the information ministry on Sunday to ensure that all information pertaining to the forthcoming elections, as well as the previous elections, is available to make a comparative analysis in the proposed press centres to assist the national and international media.

During a visit to the PID regional information office here, he said such media centres will be set up at information offices throughout the country to assist the media in covering the general elections smoothly. The centres were being set up in pursuance of the directive of President Musharraf.

He said he had already written to the foreign office, home department and election commission to send one of their senior officers to the respective centres so that they could respond to the queries of journalists regarding the law and order situation and other issues.—APP
