ITA finalises preparation for two events

ISLAMABAD, Sept 30: A meeting of the Islamabad Tennis Association (ITA) held here Monday finalised the arrangements for two forthcoming tournaments, both to be staged this month.

The meeting chaired by president of ITA, Syed Iqtidar Shah discussed and approved the arrangements for holding the 2nd ITF Pakistan International Junior Tournament due to run between Oct 7 and 13 at the Islamabad Club.

The Club will also be the venue for the 19th edition of the 2002 Federal Cup that explodes into action on Oct 14 with the finals set for 20th.

The tournament, which has been organised regularly for the past 18 years, offers a prize purse of Rs 150,000 and is expected to attract all top-ranked players.

The events to be contested in the Federal Cup are men’s singles, men’s doubles, ladies singles, junior (under-18) singles, boys (under-14) singles, boys (under-12) singles, girls (under-14) singles and veterans’ (45 & above) doubles.
