KARACHI: 10 cars, 11 bikes hijacked

KARACHI, Sept 25: An elderly man committed suicide in Keamari on late Tuesday night.

Siraj-ul-Haq, aged 55, shot himself in the abdomen in his house in Sikandarabad. He was admitted to Civil Hospital where he died on Wednesday morning. Police said that the dead man was suffering from illness and also had a couple of heart attacks.

CARJACKING: Twenty-one vehicles — 10 cars and 11 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Wednesday, police said. Seven cars were hijacked. Three others were stolen. Two motorcycles were hijacked. Nine others were stolen.

Police also claimed on Wednesday to have recovered two cars and two motorcycles in the city.

ROAD ACCIDENTS: Reckless driving claimed two lives in the city on late Tuesday night.

Abida, aged 25, and Imdad Ali, aged 50, were knocked down by an unidentified speeding vehicle on Khayaban-i-Shamsheer in Darkhshan.

Police said that both the man and woman were walking to a bus stop from a bungalow where they worked as domestic servants, when the accident took place. They were rushed to JPMC where doctors pronounced them dead on arrival.

ROBBERIES: Haider Saeed lodged an FIR at Darkhshan police station that two unidentified men barged into his house and got away with cash and valuables.

Bandits looted cash and valuables from Syed Fahim’s house in Defence Housing Authority

Mohammed Aslam lodged an FIR at New Karachi Industrial Area police station that unidentified men robbed him of cash.
