Kanu gives Arsenal victory

LONDON, Sept 21: An injury-time winner from Nwankwo Kanu gave champions Arsenal a dramatic 2-1 victory over 10-man Bolton Wanderers in the English premier league Saturday.

The win, after Gareth Farrelly’s quirky goal cancelled out Thierry Henry’s first half strike for the Double winners, kept Arsenal top of the table on 17 points.

Liverpool moved into second place on 15 points after a 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion, while Manchester United recorded a morale-boosting 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur thanks to a Ruud van Nistelrooy penalty.

Newcastle United beat Sunderland 2-0 in the northeast derby.
