KARACHI: Admission process at NED begins next month

KARACHI, Sept 17: The process for admissions to first-year classes of Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Computer and Information Technology programmes, session 2002-2003, at the NED University of Engineering and Technology will start with the sale of admission forms and prospectus on October 8.
According to official sources, in all 967 seats, including 123 on the self-finance basis, have been allocated for admissions. The urban engineering discipline is being launched separately from this year under which 34 seats on the basis of merit have been allocated.
Candidates domiciled in Sindh and having passed their higher secondary school (pre-engineering) examinations or equivalent foreign examinations, and having secured 50 per cent or above are eligible for applying under merit seats, while those applying under the self-finance scheme will be required to have secured 60 per cent and above for eligibility.
The university has already conducted the pre-admission (entry) test on August 3, wherein about 5529 candidates appeared. 2390 were declared to have cleared the test. An official at the university said that only those who had cleared the entry test were eligible to apply for admission.
