2 rockets fired at US base

MIRANSHAH, Sept 10: Two rockets were fired towards a building, where US soldiers are thought to be staying, in the town of Miranshah bordering Afghanistan. Witnesses said the rockets had fallen short of their target, landing in a wasteland.

Several rockets have been fired in recent months at a school building in the area, where a small number of US military personnel are based to assist the hunt for fugitive Taliban and Al Qaeda fighters, who may have escaped from Afghanistan.—Reuters
