KARACHI, Sept 9: Sindh minister for transport, labour and industries Dewan Mohammad Yousuf Farooqui on Monday directed the EDO Transport to ensure shifting of inter-city buses from Lines Area to some other place.

He issued these directives on reports that residents of Lines Area are agitating against illegal bus terminuses established by 13 transport companies causing congestion in the residential area.

He said the government realizes the problem faced by citizens due to illegal terminuses established by the transport companies.

He recalled that the city government had already worked out a plan to establish terminuses outside the city for coaches operating between Karachi and other cities of the country and certain locations had also been identified. The EDO should submit a report keeping in view that plan, he stressed.

The minister took notice of another report regarding Rs.93 million Manzoor Colony storm-water drain project which has been in the doldrums and asked the secretary of local government to probe the matter and submit report in a week.—PPI
