KARACHI, Aug 26: A number of educationists have expressed apprehension that the extension in the last date for submission of forms for admission to first year classes in the city will further delay academic session.

City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has extended the last date for admission to class XI by another five days, up to August 30.

The educationists were of the view that with a long process involved in admission, such as scrutiny of forms, placement and redressal of hardship cases, the process of teaching for the new entrants would commence by the middle of October.

They pointed out that the private educational institutions in the metropolis had already started teaching students of the first year classes.

Whereas those seeking admissions to first year classes at the government-run institutions would also face the attendance problems in the longer run.

They demanded to streamline the centralized admission policy.—APP
