KARACHI: Benazir’s papers being filed today

By Our Reporter

KARACHI, Aug 25: The nomination papers of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto for the women’s reserved seats from Sindh will be filed here on Monday afternoon, a PPP spokesman said on Sunday.

Ms Bhutto is on top of the list of ten nominees for the reserved seats of the National Assembly from the province.

PPP acting secretary general Mian Raza Rabbani has alleged that Governor Houses in Sindh and Punjab have virtually become election offices of “the King’s Party” candidates.

In a letter to the CEC, he said that resources of the provincial administrations were being used to put at serious disadvantage the contesting candidates being supported by the PPP.

He said on Aug 23, PML (QA) leaders Mian Mohammad Azhar, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi met at the Governor House, Punjab, to finalize their list of candidates.
