Zakir strikes twice

KARACHI, Aug 22: Two first half goals from Zakir Hussain helped COMKAR (W) outplay COMPAK (W) 3-1 in the Pakistan Navy football championship at NPT&SC ground Thursday.

COMPAK (W) got off to a confident start with a Khalid Khan goal in the 19th minute, but caved in when Zakir struck twice to make it 2-1 in the 25th and 32nd minutes.

COMKAR (W) Shakir Hussain completed the scoring in the 78th minute.

In Wednesday’s match, COMKAR (R), powered by a M.S. Akbar hat trick, steamrolled COMLOG (G) 8-0.

COMKAR (R) commenced their blitz by firing in four goals in the first half, starting with two quick goals from Akbar in the 15th and 17th minute.

A. Ahmad and A. Saeed further enhanced the margin 4-0 with 25th and 42nd minute strikes.

Resuming their goal rush in the second session, COMKAR (R) got their fifth through Akbar that completed his hat trick in the 55th minute.

Three more came within a space of then minutes when Kamran Yasin slotted home

in the 70th minute, Ahmad scored five minutes later, and R. Bukhsh wrapped up the proceedings in the 80th minute.
