Draft law on corruption finalized

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Aug 21: A meeting of the steering committee of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS) project here on Wednesday discussed and finalized the draft of the NACS, which will shortly be presented to the cabinet for approval.

The chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lt-Gen Munir Hafiz, who is also the chairman of the steering committee, presided over the meeting.

The strategy envisages a comprehensive plan to counter the menace of corruption in a holistic manner by building a coalition of all the pillars of National Integrity System, including the government, legislature, judiciary, private sector, media and civil society as a whole and adopting a three-pronged approach of awareness, prevention, and enforcement.

Other officials of various departments also attended the meeting.
