KARACHI, Aug 21: Another precious land meant for amenity purposes in the Lyari Town area has been occupied by the land mafia.

The plot is situated in Niazi Colony (UC-11) near Mirza Adam Khan Road in Lyari.

The residents claim that the plot is a CDC plot. its lease expired in 1995 and a map of the defunct KMC shows that the proposed plot is meant for a playground.

A press release issued by a local non governmental organization says that the land mafia has occupied the land with the connivance of land officials and has started illegal construction on it.

The NGO has urged the city government to stop the illegal construction on the plot and reserve it for construction of a playground in the locality.
