KARACHI: Two die in road accidents

KARACHI, Aug 18: A small boy and a small girl fell victim to reckless driving in the city on Sunday.

Police said that Sulaiman, aged five, was run over by a speeding minibus (JE-1047) on Tara Chand Road in the police limits of Jackson. He was rushed to Civil Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Police said that the bus driver escaped after the accident. Police impounded the vehicle.

A five-year-old girl, Khaldana, was knocked down by a speeding Datsun pick-up truck near the main Super Highway. She died on the spot.

The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem, police said.

The truck driver sped off after the accident.

A teenage boy was run over by a railway engine near Railway Colony. Police said that the unidentified boy came under the wheels of a railway engine while walking across the railway tracks.

His body was sent to the JPMC for post-mortem.
