FAISALABAD, Aug 13: Police killed two youth in a staged encounter here on Tuesday.

Eyewitnesses told this scribe that a police team overpowered the youth who tried to flee after leaving their motorcycle behind, took them to a deserted place near a brick kiln, and shot them dead.

However, police claimed that the two bandits snatched one Iftikhar’s motorcycle (FDW-8553) at gunpoint in the Nazimabad area.

About half-an-hour later, the bandits were intercepted by two cops on patrol near Warispura. They opened fire on them. Head Constable Riaz sustained serious bullet wounds. Constable Tariq attended to his injured colleague while the bandits escaped.
