2 women die, 5 injured in firing over Karo-kari

LARKANA, Aug 13: Two women were shot dead and five persons, including a pregnant woman and two children, were injured near Mirokhan on Tuesday in two firing incidents related to a Karo-kari dispute.

Saindino and Murid Khokhar, riding on a tractor, allegedly opened fired on an alleged Karo, Mashooq Ali Khokhar, near Shahpur Khokhar village and injured him.

Supposing him to be dead, the assailants rushed to the village.

Arriving at the village, they showered bullets on the residents, killing two women, Peerani, wife of Rustam Ali Khokhar, and Meeman, wife of Sadoro Khokhar, on the spot.

The stray bullets also hit and injured a pregnant woman, Alam Khatoon, a girl, Shah-dan 8, a boy, Din Mohammed, 10, and man, Mohammad Murad, 5.

The assailants escaped from the scene.

Those injured were admitted to the Chandka Medical College Hospital here.

The police are investigating.
