HUB, Aug 13: The Balochistan Coastal Development Authority (BCDA) has planned to modernize the fishing sector by introducing a computerized monitoring system.

Under the new system, fishing trawlers and boats will be equipped with wireless equipment, monitored by the VHF surveillance system, to provide help to fishermen and rescue them in case they come under any danger. The system will interconnect trawlers and boats through an organized control system.

Four control sections will be set up at Gadani, Ormara, Pasni and Gwadar. The control sections will be responsible for the provision of help and rescue to trawlers and boats during rough weather.

An amount of Rs32 million has been allocated for the project that this will be initiated soon. The agriculture and forest organization has provided the amount for the project.
