KARACHI: Six cars, six bikes hijacked

KARACHI, Aug 12: Twelve vehicles — six cars and six motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Monday, police said.

Two cars were hijacked. Four others were stolen.

Five motorcycles were hijacked. One was were stolen.

Police also claimed on Monday to have recovered three cars and four motorcycles.

WOUNDED: Bandits shot and wounded a shop assistant when he put up resistance to them in Eidgah on Monday evening.

Police said that two armed men entered a sweetmeat shop on M. A. Jinnah Road and asked cashier Abdul Razzaque to hand over cash. The cashier put up resistance to the bandits who opened fire and escaped. Razzaque was wounded.

He was rushed to Civil Hospital where he was admitted.
