HYDERABAD: Establishment of college at disputed plot assured

HYDERABAD, Aug 11: Hyderabad District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman assured elected representatives of union council-12, Hyderabad city, that the establishment of a girls degree college on the old Bakra Mandi plot was one of his top priorities.
Talking to a delegation of councillors, who called on him at his office here on Saturday, the Nazim said he would approach the Sindh governor and other authorities concerned for the establishment of the girls college.
The councillors informed him that the delay in the establishment of the college was creating unrest among people.
They regretted that even resolutions of the district and city councils in this regard were not considered.
Meanwhile, the Nazim laid the foundation stone of a girls middle school in Pucca Qila here the other day.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the government would be requested to protect and preserve the Holmstead Hall and Mukhi House, which are their national heritage.
He said steps were also being taken to shift the affected families of Pucca Qila to Junejo Colony.
HESCO: The superintending engineer, Hesco circle-I, Hyderabad, Habibullah Khilji, has warned consumers to clear their power bills without any further delay to avoid legal action.
He was presiding over a meeting of executive engineers of circle-I in his office here on Saturday.
The Recovery Mukhtiarkar, Hesco, Syed Zaman Shah, told the meeting that notices had already been issued to defaulters for payment of dues.
The superintending engineer directed that if the arrears were not paid in the stipulated period, arrest warrants should be issued against the defaulters.
WASA: The recovery coordinator, Water and Sanitation Agency announced here on Sunday that the last date to deposit water bills of July had been extended up to Aug 15.
