SWABI, Aug 8: Speakers at a seminar held here on Tuesday rejected the proposed constitutional amendments and said the power to amend the Constitution should rest with the parliament.

They said the military and civil bureaucracy were in league to weaken the democracy and democratic institutions in the country.

The recurring constitutional crises could be blamed on the political governments and the military regimes of the past.
