KARACHI, Aug 8: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has warned the government that rigging at the October polls would be the precursor to civil war.

Stressing the need to restore the confidence of the people in the electoral process, the government must replace the chief election commissioner with a person of integrity who is acceptable to the political parties, stated PTI Secretary-General Mairaj Mohammad Khan while addressing party workers at a meeting on Wednesday.

He said in order to restore the supremacy of the parliament, the government must withdraw the NSC and all those amendments that reduce the prime minister to a rubber stamp.
