KARACHI: US Consulate security discussed

KARACHI, Aug 7: The US Consul-General in Karachi, John K. Bauman, met City Nazim Naimatullah Khan in his office on Wednesday and discussed security issues of the Consulate General Office.

The consul-general said they do not want the closure of the road in front of the consulate and thus cause inconvenience to citizens.

He, however, said it was equally essential to solve the security problems of the consulate.

On the occasion, views were exchanged for solving the consulate’s security as well as transport problems and various proposals in this regard came under consideration.

The Nazim also called the director-general of mass transit, Malik Zahirul Islam and directed him to inspect the site and prepare a detailed report based on facts.

He asked him that if there was any other suggestion which may help solve the two problems, the same be also included in the report.

The consul-general and the city Nazim agreed that there was a need to solve both the problems so that neither security problems are faced to the consulate nor any inconvenience is caused to the people because of transport problem.
