First Pakistan programme on BBC today


KARACHI, Aug 1: The first episode of BBC World’s weekly current affairs programme Question Time Pakistan will be aired at 10.30pm (PST) on Friday.

The 50-minute show carries frank comments and questions from the studio audience selected from a cross section of Pakistan society. This week, the audience will quiz the panelists on topics such as the proposed constitutional amendments by the government of President General Pervez Musharraf, the impact of US Secretary of State Colin Powell’s latest visit to the region, the election of Benazir Bhutto as Chairperson of PPP and the gang rape case in Meerwala.

The panelists in Friday’s episode are Pakistani Interior Minister Moinuddin Haider, former federal minister of PPP government Barrister Aitezaz Ahsan, Deputy Convener Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Dr Farooq Sattar and leading human rights activist Asma Jahangir.
