BAHAWALPUR, July 29: A judicial magistrate sent a gang-rape victim to Darul Aman on Monday.

Victim ‘N’ of Lodhran told the magistrate that Lodhran union council 5 Nazim Haji Iqbal, his accomplices Nawaz, Habibullah, former councillor Mukhtiar and Ahmad Yar, with the help of police inspector Riaz Chavan, kept her in illegal confinement and raped her for three days.

She said she escaped from their illegal custody and told her aunt her ordeal. She took her to the court.

The magistrate referred her complaint to police concerned for investigation.

SECOND INCIDENT: One Akbar after allegedly administering drugged food to the family of his friend, kidnapped his sister ‘A’ and raped her in Mauza Karani near Musafir Khana, about 15 kilometres from here.

PPP POLLS: The district level elections of PPP were held here on Monday.

According to a press release, Salahuddin Jilani and Muhammad Ali Ahsan were elected unopposed district president and general secretary, respectively.

Other office-bearers are; vice-presidents: Chaudhry Abdul Hamid, Syed Ashfaq Bokhari; deputy secretary general: Abdul Qayyum Malik; finance secretary: Ishtiaq Basra.

The elections were held under the supervision of former MPA Chaudhry Safdar Husain.
