PPP (S) polls

PESHAWAR, July 29: The Pakistan People’s Party (Sherpao) is to hold its central elections on Aug 2 to fulfil the condition imposed by the recently promulgated Political Parties Order.

Differences had cropped up between Benazir Bhutto and Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao in 1999 and the latter was expelled from the PPP by the former, now in exile. That led to the creation of a splinter group, PPP (S).—PPI
