KARACHI, July 27: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s election committee on Saturday, received three nomination papers from candidates contesting for the seat of convener of the party’s central coordination committee, a spokesman for the party said.

The election committee had announced July 27 as the date for filing nomination papers for the intra-party elections, polling for which would be held on July 30. The final list of the candidates would be issued on July 28.

Nominations papers of Dr Imran Farooq, Aftab Ahmad Shaikh and Dr Farooq Sattar were received for the central committee leadership, for the post of one convener. On the other hand, 11 papers were received against 6 seats of deputy conveners, and 27 papers for 18 posts of members of the central coordination committee.
