ISLAMABAD, July 26: Sui Southern Gas Company Managing Director Mukhtar Ahmad has submitted his resignation to the federal government.

Sources told Dawn that the resignation, tendered around a week ago, was under consideration at the petroleum and natural resources ministry. He has been asked to continue until the decision on his resignation.

When asked on Friday, Mukhtar did not deny the report. He, however, said he was working with the Asian Development Bank and his contract had expired. Asked to give a definite answer, he said: “This is my third year with the SSGCL and that is sufficient answer to your question.”
