CDA sets revenue target of Rs1,961m for 2002-03


ISLAMABAD, July 12: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has set Rs1,961 million revenue target for the fiscal year 2002- 2003, showing an increase of Rs86 million from last year’s target.

According to the CDA finance officials, of the total revenue, Rs864 million would be realized through different projects and schemes; Rs425 million would be paid by the federal government; while Rs672 million would be collected by the CDA through ‘self-generate system’ (self-cleaning units).

The CDA board approved Rs1,961 million annual target against the proposed Rs2,253 million for the current fiscal year.

The revenue to be collected through various taxes include Rs150 million through water tax which is the same as last year and Rs90 million would be collected by the CDA through toll tax as against last year’s collection of Rs50 million.

Similarly, the CDA’s collection target of Rs550 million through property tax remains the same as that of last year. An amount of Rs60 million would be collected through municipal receipts which is also higher by Rs20 million against last year’s collection.

The CDA would collect Rs7 million through horticulture receipts as against last year’s figure of Rs6 million and Rs8 million in sanitation head.

The total revenue target of last fiscal year 2001-2002 of Rs1,875 million was revised by the CDA to Rs2,023.594 million in which Rs241.600 million, to be paid by the federal government, was revised to Rs528.600 million.

Similarly, the collection by the CDA through its own resources was revised to Rs846.994 million from Rs809 million during the last fiscal year.—APP
