NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, July 12: The workers of the Taluka Council Moro, Taluka Council Kandiaro, Union Council Darya Khan Mari, Tharushah, and Padidan, under the banner of the Baldia Workers Federation (Naushahro Feroze), held a protest demonstration against the non-payment of their salaries since the last three months.
The protest rally started from the Taluka Council Office, Naushahro Feroze, and ended in front of the press club where they observed token hunger strike.
The protesters were led by the president, Baldia Workers Federation, Raja Kishan, and its general secretary, Anwar Korai.
Talking to newsmen, their leaders said that they failed to understand as to why the provincial finance and local government ministers had still not been unable to finalize the amount of the salaries and pensions of workers of four Taluka councils of Naushahro Feroze District.
They said that the devolution programme, which was said to be beneficial for all, had only given mental torture to the workers since the last 10 months.
They said that they were on the brink of starvation as they had not been paid their salaries for the last three months.
