By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, July 11: President Pervez Musharraf has approved the appointment of new envoys to Brussels, Geneva and Iran, sources said on Friday.

They said fresh nominations for the three important diplomatic slots were made by the ministry of foreign affairs some time back and were accorded approval by the Chief Executive’s secretariat recently.

In the diplomatic reshuffle Tariq Fatimi, Pakistan’s current ambassador to Jordan will take charge as ambassador to Brussels to replace Shaukat Omar who is being posted as Pakistan’s representative to the UN in Geneva.

Pakistan’s ambassador in Hague, Salman Bashir, will be the country’s new ambassador in Iran.
