KARACHI, July 8: Karachi Water and Sewerage Board has organized a five-day camp at Shah Abdul Latif Grammar School in Sindh Parra, Shanti Nagar, Gulshan Town, to regularize connections and ensure proper water supply to the residents of the area.

The camp was to be held for three days — July 3 to 5 — but it was later extended to July 6 to 8. A large number of residents submitted duly-filled forms. A bank counter was also set up at the camp to facilitate the people.

The camp was organized with the efforts of Shanti Nagar Welfare Association, the Nazim of Union Council 7, Ghulam Akbar Moorejo and councillor, Ghulam Mustafa Palari. Water supply to this area was managed by the Public Health Engineering Department through the Village Development Association.

The residents wanted the KWSB to take over the system in view of irregularities and had approached it through the association and elected representatives.

But after complaints of massive irregularities, the Nazim had taken over the system.—PPI
