LANDI KOTAL, July 7: Political parties belonging to the Khyber Agency formed an alliance in Bara on Sunday.

A meeting of various political groups, presided over by former federal minister, Malik Waris Khan, was held at the office of Pakistan People Party, Khyber Agency, in Bara.

The alliance was named Khyber Political Alliance (KPA). Office bearers of Awami National Party, PML (Q), PML (N), Qabail Jamhoori Party, Tanzeem-i-Nojawanan Kukikhel, and Khyber Human Rights Commission participated in the meeting.

The meeting resolved to expand KPA activities to all Fata areas and accused the bureaucracy for working against reforms programme in Fata, and alleged that they were using negative tactics to fulfil their nefarious designs.

The meeting alleged that a handful of tribal Maliks were being used by the political administration to express their resentment against tribal reforms.

The KPA leaders stressed that tribal people were true patriots and the government’s operation against terrorists and Al Qaeda men was aimed at sabotaging the reforms process in tribal areas.
