Qadhafi’s envoy holds talks with Musharraf


ISLAMABAD, June 28: President Gen Pervez Musharraf on Friday observed that the Organization of Islamic Conference should play a more effective role in the resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

Talking to International People’s Organization Coordinator Dr Salem Ben Amer, who is visiting Pakistan as special envoy of Libyan leader Col Muammar Qadhafi, the president called for unity and cooperation among Muslim countries. The envoy conveyed a message from Col Qadhafi to Gen Musharraf.

The president briefed him on the military standoff with India and the tension generated as a result of the massive deployment of Indian troops on the border.—APP
