PCB rejects Shoaib, Lee showdown

LAHORE, June 20: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has rejected a showdown between Shoaib Akhtar and Australian Brett Lee to determine World’s fastest bowler, said a spokesman of the PCB Thursday.

“There is no question of Shoaib’s appearance in fastest bowler competition being proposed to be held in India,” he said.

“Shoaib is a valuable asset of Pakistan and he cannot be allowed to appear in any competition without the proper permission of PCB,” he maintained.

He said Shoaib can not be allowed for joining such a competition before the World Cup and his participation even afterwards will be subject to the approval by PCB.—APP
