KARACHI: Six cars, 10 bikes hijacked

KARACHI, June 19: As many as 16 vehicles — six cars and 10 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Wednesday.

Police sources said three cars were hijacked and three others were stolen in various localities in the metropolis.

Four motorbikes were hijacked and six others stolen in different areas.

The police claimed to have recovered two stolen cars and nine motorcycles on Wednesday.

ACCIDENT: A policeman died after the taxi he was driving turned turtle on National Highway in the Shah Latif Town police limits on Wednesday.

Police said Pir Mohammad, 28, was driving a taxi. As he might have been speeding, it overturned after the road turned slippery due to drizzling.

Constable Pir Mohammad suffered serious head injuries and was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
