Protesters resent inflated power bills
LARKANA June 18: A big rally was held in Ratodero town on Tuesday against the inflated power bills.
People from a cross section of society also took part in a procession with passed through the main roads and raised slogans against Hesco.
A strong contingent of police remained on sideline to prevent violence during the protest march.
The protesters staged a sit-in at a section of Motorway blocking vehicular traffic for two hours.
Addressing the rally, Muhammed Yakoob Arbani of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) , Momin Samo, Manzoor Ghanghro, Arif Ali Jalbani and others condemned the attitude of local Hesco staff accusing them of continuously sending detection bills and inflated bills to the consumers.
They said that the SDO of the Hesco, Ratodero, paid no heed to the repeated requests for a remedy.
They announced a complete strike for June 24 unless all the detection bills were cancelled and actual bills were prepared within the next three days.
Rice millers: The deteriorating law and order situation is hampering business activities of rice millers and traders in Larkana division and creating sense of insecurity among them.
This was stated by Gada Hussain Mahisar, patron in-chief of the Sindh Baluchistan Rice Millers and Traders Association (SBRMTA), here on Tuesday.
Expressing concern over the situation, Mr Mahisar pointed out that many millers had been kidnapped and forced to pay ransom. Some of them had even been killed, he added.
He said bandits were still sending kidnap threats to the millers and traders while Jacobabad district had become centre of the criminals’ activities.
