1,400 teachers, 200 doctors to be appointed on contract

FAISALABAD, June 16: The district government will shortly appoint on contract basis 1,400 teachers and 200 doctors.

Sources said that the Punjab government had asked all the district Nazimeen to fill in the vacancies of teachers and doctors in the state-run educational and health institutions.

Authorities concerned had been directed to prepare lists of vacant posts in their respective areas.

The appointments would be made in phases. An attractive salary package would be offered to the new doctors and teachers.

They would not be transferred from their place of posting till the next policy of the government. They would work under prescribed rules and regulations.

Scores of state-run dispensaries, basic health units, rural health centres and hospital have been facing acute shortage of doctors and para-medical staff.

Similarly, a number of girl and boy schools have been without teachers since long, specially in the rural areas.
