KARACHI, June 9: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan on Sunday kicked off his election campaign at his party’s Karachi division workers convention at Ghazi garden behind mausoleum of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi (RA) at Clifton.

The convention’s venue, filled to the capacity by workers, was decorated with party flags and leaders were seated on a 60ft x 30ft-stage flanked by portraits of Quaid-i-Azam and Imran Khan.

Before entering the venue, Imran Khan and other leaders went to the Mazar, laid wreath and offered Fateha. On arrival at the convention, he was welcomed with slogans of “Wazir-i-Azam Imran Khan, Charon Soobon kee Pehchan Imran Khan and Kaun Bachai ga Pakistan Imran Khan, Imran Khan,

He said PTI Karachi President Aman Paracha had taken the party programme to the grassroots by completing organisational structure in 18 towns of the division.

Mr Khan asked the cadres to take the party programme, which had been evolved to emancipate the masses from injustices, bigotry and miseries and which was aimed at creating an egalitarian society, to the people. Speeches of leaders continued till late night.
