KARACHI, June 9: Two contingents of Pakistan Boy Scouts Association (PBSA) will participate in the 36th world scouts conference and 8th world scout youth forum to be held in Greece, next month.

The chief scouts commissioner, Zobaida Jalal, has approved the participation of Pakistan Boy Scouts’ contingents in the events.

The international division of the PBSA has directed all the nine provincial associations to send their nominations to the association’s headquarters.

Contingents from 151 member countries will attend these two mega events. The world scouts forum, which is to commence from July 8 in northern Greece, will discuss “the mission of scouting” that was adopted in Durban, South African, in 1999.

The youth forum will also discuss the implementation of the mission of scouting.

The 36th world scouts conference, also to be held in Greece from July 15, is a high-level forum of international boy scouts. The conference will discuss the recommendations and prepare an implementation strategy.—APP
