SARGODHA, June 1: Local traders on Saturday expressed concern over increase in prices of petroleum products.

The traders claimed frequent increase in petroleum prices had created unrest among the traders’ community as it would automatically enhance prices of several other commodities.

Traders’ leaders, including Rao Abdul Mannan, Mian Abdul Khaliq, Abdul Majeed and Shaikh Zafar Iqbal, demanded the government that rates of petroleum products should be reduced to save the hard-pressed community.

If the tehsil municipal administration remained adamant to imposing new taxes, the traders threatened they would not pay any tax.

DISTRICT NAZIM: The government will never compromise against its principles and fair policies.

This was stated by district Nazim Malik Amjad Ali Noon at a district council’s meeting here on Friday.

The Nazim hinted at that some house members wanted to get undue benefits, claiming he would not favour them.

Meanwhile, a special meeting was held by opposition which formed a committee to convince ex-MNA Chaudhry Anwar Ali Cheema to lead the opposition.

The Nazim said several development works were in the offing.

Mr Noon told newsmen that some of his allies were misusing their powers and forced him to indulge in illegal practice. He claimed he had warned the corrupt people against the consequences.

MALPRACTICE: Madrisah Feroze Din Shaheed Chairman Shaikh Abdul Ghafoor expressed concern over malpractice by a ‘quack’ who had been playing with the lives of the innocent people.

He alleged Dr Sarfraz gave wrong medicine to his nephew Muhammad Yaseen who died at the Allied Hospital, Faisalabad.

He alleged the doctor had been administering wrong treatment and neither any drug-inspector nor police had initiated any legal action against him.
