Unfair means in exams being checked

By Our Correspondent

BANNU, June 1: On the special directives of the NWFP governor to check the use of unfair means in examinations, the vigilance committee of Bannu paid surprise visits to different centres of the Secondary School Certificate Examination here on Saturday.

The committee, headed by Bannu DCO Sardar Abbas Khan, advised the examination supervisory staff to keep a close watch on the use of unfair means and curb the menace with a view to produce a better educated lot in future.

The committee first visited the examination centre set up in the Government Girls High School and expressed satisfaction with the arrangements.

The DCO directed the examination staff against allowing any outsiders into the centres so that the examination could be conducted in a fair and smooth manner.

Later, the committee members visited the Government High School No.1 (boys) and reviewed the examination arrangements.

The vigilance committee members also participated in a prize distribution function held in the Primary School No.3. They hoped that the young generation would equip themselves with the latest knowledge to face the challenges of the new century.
