DERA GHAZI KHAN, May 31: Taunsa Sharif tehsil Nazim and his deputy have condemned the alleged interference of the district government in the tehsil council’s affairs.

Speaking at a press conference here on Friday, Nazim Khwaja Sheraz and Naib Nazim Dilshad Shaheen alleged the district government had aggravated the row between tehsil and district officials over the transfer of the Taunsa tehsil municipal officer. The official was initially transferred from Taunsa Sharif, they said, adding he succeeded in cancelling his transfer due to intervention of the district government.

The tehsil Nazim told Dawn on telephone that they would get a stay order from High Court against the cancellation of the TMO’s transfer.

He alleged several development projects could not be initiated owing to the negligence of the district government.

Tehsil Nazim and his deputy belong to Pakistan People’s Party while district Nazim and his deputy support the Millat Party, it is learnt.
