PESHAWAR, May 30: The NWFP government has decided to streamline the rewards and punishments system for the teachers as well as the educational institutions on the basis of their performance in the annual examination.

A meeting held here under the chairmanship of the provincial governor, Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah, at Governor’ House here on Thursday reviewed the progress on the implementation on policy in this connection and decided to make the process more effective and transparent.

The meeting also decided to take disciplinary action against those teachers who would be found responsible for bringing zero level results of their respective subjects for three consecutive years.

Speaking on the occasion, Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah said the basic aim of the exercise is to improve the quality of education on which no compromise can be afforded any more. To ensure maximum transparency in this connection, he said, representatives of teachers should also be involved in making the policy more effective.
