Lankan PM’s plane held up at Dubai

By Frances Bulathsinghala

COLOMBO, May 29: The Sri Lankan prime minister had to wait for two hours at the Dubai airport on Monday as the plane carrying him to London had to make an emergency landing after one of its engines developed a technical fault.

Lanka’s civil aviation department is not ruling out foul play and has ordered an investigation.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is on a nine-day visit to Europe.
