KARACHI: Heavy vehicles’ entry restricted

KARACHI, May 22: Karachi Nazim Naimatullah Khan has said that for preventing accidents and reducing the pressure of traffic on the roads, it is necessary that timings be determined for the entry of heavy vehicles into the city.

He was speaking at a meeting in the City Government secretariat convened to discuss steps for the control of heavy vehicles.

The meeting decided that there would be a complete ban on the entry of heavy vehicles, such as trailers, tankers, trucks and long vehicles, from 7am to 9am and from 4pm to 8pm.

The Nazim announced that the decision would strictly implemented from May 24 and no pressure would be entertained in this respect.—APP
