Islamabad condemns murder

ISLAMABAD, May 21: The Foreign Office has condemned the cold-blooded murder of the leading Kashmiri leader and a member of the executive council of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Abdul Gani Lone, in Srinagar on Tuesday.

The murder of Lone is yet another incident in the continuing reign of terror unleashed by the occupation forces in the held Kashmir for the last 12 years, a spokesman for the Foreign Office said in a statement issued late on Tuesday night.

“It may be recalled that only last month he had been assaulted by a Shiv Sena leader in the Occupied Kashmir,” the spokesman added.

He noted that the Indian occupation forces have been engaged in a brutal effort to crush the Kashmiri spirit through murder, violence and rape. “They will never succeed in achieving their despicable design,” he said.
