Seven trawlers, boats seized

HUB, May 20: A team of Balochistan Fisheries Department has seized six Karachi-bound fishing trawlers and boats between the night of Sunday and Monday near Gadani, and arrested their crews on the charge of illegal fishing.

Sources told Dawn on Monday that the provincial government had formed the team, headed by Lasbela fisheries chief Abdul Rab Niazi, to check the unlawful fishing along the coast.

The trawlers and boats seized were: Baad-i-Madina, Al-Hafeez, Al-Yaqoobi, Al-Jaryan, San Francisco and Safeena-e-Arab.

Four other Karachi-bound trawlers — Al-Raheel, Al-Rahmania, Al-Saeeda and Al-Osama — were impounded two days ago allegedly for fishing illegally.

BODY FOUND: Body of a woman, 25, was found near Amirabad in Hub on Sunday.

It was found hanged on a vacant plot at Gulshan Amirabad. The women was said to be killed four days ago.
