GOTHENBURG, May 11: Hosts Sweden came back from 3-0 down to score a 5-3 win over Finland to grab the bronze medal at the World Ice Hockey Championships Friday.

The Finns made the better start with Tomi Kallio scoring the opening goal in the fifth minute. Niklas Hagman doubled the lead less than five minutes later. Kimmo Rintanen made it 3-0 90 seconds into the second period.

But the hosts pulled a goal back through Johan Davidsson.

At 34:21, Mattias Weinhandl cut the Swedish deficit to 3-2 from close range on a pass by Michael Nylander.

Then, at 38:44, Thomas Rhodin cracked a superb cross-shot from the right wing into the Finnish net.

Rhodin followed up with his second goal of the game, a close range shot on a pass by Henrik Zetterberg at 53:54.

But it was Sweden who grabbed the next goal, their fifth of the game, when Falk sent the puck into an empty net in the last 10 seconds.—Reuters
