TOBA TEK SINGH, May 8: The District Bar Association observed a strike on Wednesday in protest against the torture of three Bar members by some villagers of Chak 152-GB, Bhindianwala.

A DBA general body meeting held under the chairmanship of its president, Shahid Iqbal, passed a resolution demanding action against the attackers.

Reports said some villagers gave thousands of rupees in fee to a lawyer, Sahibzada Raza Chohan, for pleading their case but later they demanded back the money following a reconciliation with the rival party.

They also exchanged hot words with the lawyer over the issue. When two other lawyers, Safdar Nasir and Chaudhry Nasar, intervened, the villagers beat up the three lawyers and fled.
